MacuShield Original provides a composition of MacuShield Original with extra vitamin B2 that helps maintain normal vision. The tablets contain three nutrients, Meso-Zeaxanthin, Lutein and Zeaxanthin, which are also found on the back of the eye, in the macula, where they form the macular pigment (yellow color). Meso-Zeaxanthin is particularly concentrated in the center of this pigment. Lutein and Zeaxanthin are found in fruits and vegetables, while meso-zeaxanthin is also found in some species of fish and seafood. The macular carotenoids contained in the product are derived from marigolds (Tagetes Erecta), which are cultivated specifically for this purpose.
